Can You Continue After Defeating Ganon

Beating The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild doesn't take very long, if you're simply beating the four divine beasts and conquering Ganon, but there's a number of things you can (and should) do after beating the main storyline of the game.

WARNING: Obviously there's some spoilers below, but if you've finished the game and you're looking for this kind of information, then it shouldn't bother you.

GO SHRINE HUNTING

Chances are, you won't have found every single shrine before beating Ganon. There's 120 shrines to find in the game (with more coming in DLC).

It's well worth tracking down all 120 shrines as each differs greatly in premise and difficulty and they're all absolutely brilliant.

DEFEAT EVENTIDE ISLAND

It's quite possible, that you would have found Eventide Island before finish the game, but if you haven't, it's absolutely worth checking out. It's one of the best parts of Breath of the Wild. You'll literally be stripped of all your equipment and faced with the task of placing three orbs on three altars, which is much harder than it sounds.

You'll need a high level of skill to defeat the monsters on this island, as well as a some significant strategy.

COLLECT ALL MEMORIES

You should know by now that Breath of the Wild takes place 100 years after the initial battle with Ganon. Link has awoken with almost no memory of his first battle. To remedy this, there's a number of memories scattered in Hyrule which will show you major events throughout the last 100 years.

DEFEAT ALL THE OPTIONAL BOSSES

There's a handful of optional bosses hidden throughout the world in Breath of the Wild. They're some of the toughest enemies in the games and an absolute treat to fight.

Hinox: The big Ogre looking guy who loves to sleep. You can find them at Eventide Island and Thyphlo Ruins. You can also encounter them throughout Hyrule field.

Lynel: The most epic boss in the game. Lynel has three different difficulty variations. The red is the weakest, followed by the blue, with white being the most difficult. You're able to find the strongest one in the Coliseum near Outskirt Stable.

Talus: That big rock thing, that you'll probably come across first. You can find it in the Grand Plateu. There's also a fiery variation as well as an ice variation, so be sure to try defeating at least one of each

Molduga: The monster of the sand. The Molduga can be found in the Gerudo Desert and will literally pop out of nowhere once it feels your footsteps.

FIND 900 KOROK SEEDS

I'd be shocked if you completed the game with even 100 Korok seeds. These petty, little suckers are hidden really well throughout the game and surprisingly, there's 900 off them which is borderline impossible without using some form of guide. It's well worth finding all 900 just so you can officially say, you've gotten every last drop out of the game.

EXPLORE HYRULE CASTLE

Make sure to go through Hyrule Castle after beating Ganon. The castle holds some pretty epic items including the Hylian Shield. There's some tough enemies to fight, but it's well worth it.

GRAB THE MASTER SWORD

Unlike almost every other Zelda game, you can complete Breath of the Wild without ever hearing of the Master Sword. You'll need at least 13 Heart Containers before you can pull it out of the ground. You can watch the below video to find out exactly how to get it.

START AGAIN AND HEAD STRAIGHT FOR GANON

Breath of the Wild is a unique experience in the sense that you can spend 100 hours before heading to fight Ganon, or head straight there after completing the opening shrines. It's almost certain that you won't be able to defeat him but it's definitely more than possible.

FIND ALL THREE DRAGONS

The dragons in Breath of the Wild are mostly random encounters.

There's three dragons in total: Farosh, Naydra and Dinraal. Each dragon serves one of the Hylian goddesses and their respective place in the Tri-force. One represents electricity, one ice and the other fire.
